In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt interviews former Governor Rick Perry, the longest-serving Governor in Texas history. Governor Perry served from December 2000 until January 2015. During his tenure, Texas became the standard-bearer for job creation in the United States. In just the past decade, Texas has created one-third of all jobs across the country. Individuals, families and businesses have come to Texas seeking opportunity and have found it in a state that understands that its citizens are the driving force behind a thriving economy. When you compare the success story of Texas to states such as California and New York, along with the current situation at the federal level in Washington, you begin to see just how stark the contrast is and why the rest of the nation would be wise to follow the Texas model.
