In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt discusses how the State
Department’s continued incompetence in handling the recent attacks against Christians in
northern Nigeria, the attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, and the trade
of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl for five senior level members of the Taliban has demonstrated
how out of touch with reality the State Department is and the danger this poses to American’s
around the world who are now at an increased risk of harm. The naiveté that continues to
permeate through the State Department going back to the administration of George W. Bush
has left it examining the world through the lens of the 20th century, instead of breaking out and
attempting to examine and understand the world in 2014.
