Breakout – Breaking Out of Poverty

In this episode of the Breakout with Newt Gingrich podcast, Newt discusses the
potential of a breakout from poverty. One of the biggest contributors to lifting
people out of poverty is learning. Learning models such as the Khan Academy,
allow individuals, regardless of how young or old they may be, to learn at their
own pace and not feel trapped in a system that is based around a one-size-fits-all
learning model. Also, any American who receives unemployment benefits should
have those benefits tied to a job training program where the individual is learning a
trade so that they can re-enter the job market with a skill. A worker investment
program is a breakout that equips an individual with the skills necessary to continually
learn and work, something that our current unemployment model takes into account.
