Back in the 1980’s being diagnosed with HIV was basically like being given a death sentence. Fortunately, with advancements in medication most individuals are living fairly healthy and long lives.  HIV is now considered more of a chronic disease.  Despite the major advancements in medical care and treatment, the stigma of having HIV has not advanced as progressively.  So now that this group of individuals is living a normal life span, what will their aging journey look like?   This week’s guest, Dr. Mark Brennan-Ing and I discuss some of the unique issues experienced by this population and their caregivers as it relates to aging.  For more information visit ACRIA.
