Word of mouth is the best form of marketing. This is something that you don’t have control over. To market, grow, and advertise your company, you need to have some things out there that are consistent that people can know and rely on. Though you have the best of intentions, sometimes people may lead your brand to a place where you don’t want it to go. So you have to control the message you’re putting out there. You have to give people good things to say about you. You have to guide your brand in the direction where you want it to go.

Concept of Sales and Marketing

You don’t have to sell anything, you just need to have a good marketing and the product will sell itself.

Selling is all about sharing, having a mindset of service, and giving the people a way that you can serve them. This is the best way to define selling.

Example: Online Messaging – Putting a link for example at the end of your blog to give credit to someone. You have to give people a choice to make and an action to take.

Marketing, on the other hand, is all about brand messaging and it is as important as selling. Nothing happens until something is sold.

Example: In a restaurant, you often say you want a Coke even though you just mean you want a can of soda. And if the restaurant doesn’t sell Coke products, they will tell you that they don’t have Coke, but they have other products like Pepsi or Mountain Dew.

Now, that is a simple way of selling.
