In this week’s episode, Being Seen and Hear with Firetalker Lynette Hoy, Lynette speaks openly about how her childhood dreams were squashed and how she’s paying it forward.
Lynette shares that as a young child, she was excited to see her father arrive home after a long day of work but that this feeling wasn’t often reciprocated. Her father had a firm belief that children were to be seen and not heard. Her mother, as many women often do, wanted to keep the peace and worked hard to do so.
She remembers wondering if she wasn’t good enough to be seen and not heard…something Gina believes no one should wonder or feel (BUT so many do).
Of course, as an adult looking back, Lynette can see with experienced eyes what exactly was going on. She realized that both of her parents had narcissistic tendencies. One was the limelight lover while the other was a master manipulator. In this environment, Lynette became a “people pleaser and high-achiever.” As an adult, Lynette went on a journey of self-improvement.
Today, she helps business owners be “seen and heard” in a very BIG way with her public relations firm, Fire Talker PR. Here she teaches that 80% of success is from showing up.
Listen in and learn how Lynette took squashed childhood dreams and turned them into a business promoting others to be recognized for their gifts and talents.
