My guest in this episode is San Antonio Attorney Shannon Salmon. In a courtroom setting, Mrs. Salmon expresses the necessity not to allow emotional reactions to influence thinking and judgment. Attorney Shannon Salmon explains that clear thinking leads to better decision-making. Mrs. Salmon shares her personal and professional experiences on overcoming emotional reactions, fear, and anger to serve as a San Antonio Attorney. Shannon and I discovered common coping mechanisms in her role as an attorney and my experience as a nurse in our professional and individual lives. We found that using mindfulness, in the beginning, is often a change in how we have been using our coping skills from the past. This change may cause apprehension and fear in using new coping skills. Mindfulness coping skills may be uncomfortable and seem weird initially, so people may hesitate to use mindfulness. Please enjoy this TAB podcast as Shannon and I discuss whether mindfulness really works.
