This is the final episode of “Preparing Today’s Children for a Futuristic Digital Tomorrow.” In a panel discussion with the champion team of educators and leaders of Eleanor Kolitz Hebrew Language Academy, Mrs. Kathryn Cohen (principal and cohort for 3rd – 5th grade), Mrs. Simran Jawanda (vice principal of middle school), and Mrs. Tracy Smith (principal of k-2nd grade).
Our panel begins where we left off in episode three, with a discussion about how students manage bullies. During our conversation, we proceeded to uncover the academic and behavioral effects of social media. The amazing discussion leads us all to a self-reflection moment on how we, as adults, are modeling social behaviors to our own children and students. This final session is not just an assessment but a call to action for all of us to prepare the future (our children) to survive in their inevitable digital world. The basics learned in elementary and middle school are predicted to be the cornerstone of a kind society, and your role in this process is crucial. The stepping stone pathing through treacherous societal challenges will be the leaders that will pull from within their core values of kindness to reach outwardly, sharing acts of compassion and service to mentor a dwindling population.
At the end of the episode, you will see not only an animated mindful moment but also a practical summary of the previous episodes. This summary will equip you with actionable advice to help you guide your children through the challenges of social media and prepare them for a digital future.
