Marlene D’Agostini is an American author residing in the U.S. state of Michigan not far from the renowned city of Detroit. She best describes herself as a devoted wife, mother and healthcare professional. Through her writing Marlene actively encourages women to encompass the daily routines of life with the support of God’s guiding hand. Her mission here is plain; to help young mothers to find their inner strength to resolve whatever issues come their way by looking at her life and how she evolved over the years through the ups and downs all of which are laid bare in the stories highlighted in this book.

So, let’s look at the book.

The Book

This is a book that combines motherhood, family life, deep religious roots pitied against daily functionality told through one mother’s rearview conversations with her two sons while driving them in the car. The stories foretold are varied just like the journeys they take, be they a trip to grandmas, to sports events, to church bible studies or school. The book is based on Marlene’s own recollections as a single mum bringing up her two sons who are now grown up with their own families. The core messages throughout the book revolve around truth, honesty, respectability all based on biblical teachings.

When you open the book take a sincere look at the prologue for it really does set the tone. There are twenty-one chapters and at the end of each chapter there are parental and scriptural reflections which the author intends for you the reader to ponder over. The scriptural references are poignant to the subject matter that is being raised at the time.

At the end of the day, it’s a story with moments to mull over.
