While emotional intelligence is about knowing your own reactions so that you can better deal with situations, we are currently facing several events so tragic that friends we may know are experiencing trauma (e.g., Fires in Maui and floods in Vermont). In this session I discuss the difference between how we can support friends in trauma and the more normal emotional responses we have on a daily basis. Using Maui as an example I talk about how that type of support can look and contrast that with what I present in the book (Learning To Feel) as our. regular, run-of-the-mill emotional reactions.
