Hosted by John Henigin
Fish Talk Radio is about sharing the joys of fishing and the outdoors. Our mission is to motivate people to get off the couch and onto the water. Equally important is the goal of encouraging anglers to become involved and to take the lead in conservation and in creating sustainable fisheries. Fish Talk Radio is for anyone who has ever dreamed of or picked up a rod and headed for the water… and for anyone who likes some fun!
First we get Bob McCray on the line. Bob operates Rogue Sports out of Klamath, CA. He’s a licensed kayak fishing guide and a fly-casting instructor.
Like Bob says, the Klamath is a kayak fisherman’s dream. Call 949-433-9184. Or go to http://rogueoutdoorsports.com.
Then Joe Meyer joins us from Berkley Fishing. Joe talks about Berkley’s new lines and he has some advice on how to deal with knotting issues. Great info on line and equipment at https://www.berkley-fishing.com.
Our next guest is Jim Korchinsky from Blue Sky Cabo Fishing and Tours. Blue Sky is ranked #1 for all fishing charters in Cabo with over 4,000 Five Star ratings. Jim is doing something right! Check out https://cabofishings.com.
In 1999, John Henigin thought a local radio show about fishing in Santa Barbara might work. Ten years later, he has been honored four times by The Outdoors Writers Association of California as “Best Outdoor Radio Show of the Year”. Fish Talk Radio has grown to cover about half the population of California on six stations plus Northern Nevada. Fish Talk radio is syndicated nationally on Sports Byline USA. Now WebTalkRadio.net takes it to a much larger audience.
John is Ambassador at Large of the VAGABUNDOS DEL MAR, President of Outdoors Writers Association California (OWAC.org), and is on the Boards of the Santa Barbara Carriage & Western Museum and The Lake Cachuma Nature Center.
Living in Santa Barbara and a legal resident of Cabo San Lucas, John keeps a boat in Lake Cachuma and spends a lot of time after big game fish. As operator of “Reel Fun Adventures,” he hosts fishing trips to Alaska, Baja and Costa Rica as a regular part of his job. John also always finds time to sponsor kids’ fishing derbies and to take kids out on his boat at the lake.
